Starting in 1982, Robert built a number of rocking chairs known as the "HENSARLING
ROCKER™" These appeared in several newspapers
(Wall Street Journal), magazines
(Texas Highways), and TV documentaries
(The Eyes of Texas) in the
mid 1980's.
To celebrate almost 20 years of rocking chair production, Robert is once again producing
the HENSARLING ROCKER™
at his shop in Uvalde. Mesquite wood will be the main focus of this rocking chair, however the rocker can
also be produced in maple and walnut.
Robert has made a couple of changes in the geometry and appearance of the rocking
chair headcrest. Robert has incorporated the headcrest of the HENSARLING
ROCKER™ into the HENSARLING
ROCKER™. Other than that, everything else, arms,
back legs, rockers, remains the same.
Although not a "quick build" or "mass produced" rocker, the
simplicity of this design means it can be produced and sold at 1980's prices. The HENSARLING ROCKER™ is available in Mesquite,
Walnut, or Quilted Maple.
